His consulting and training projects took him to over 200 cities in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Western and Eastern Europe. During this 40-year career, Charles wrote six books, over 200 articles and three university courses. He received a Person of the Year nomination in a U.S. community, Person of the Year award in a Canadian community, a letter of commendation from the President of the United States and a speaking engagement at the United Nations Habitat Conference in Istanbul, Turkey

Throughout his government-consulting career, Charles continued to build his base of knowledge in the areas of nutrition and natural health taking many courses and eventually earning a PhD. in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health.

In 2001, he wrote his first health book entitled Healthy At Work: Your Pocket Guide to Good Health, and started a new company Healthy@Work, Inc. which provides wellness consulting and educational services to employers.
